3 Ingredient Face Mask

Everyone loves a good face mask. The best part about this one. . . you only need three ingredients! When I feel a pimple coming on, I run to this face mask. It is so simple to make and works SO WELL. It either stops the pimple from making an appearance at all or will shorten it’s lifespan on your face.

Ingredients

Bentonite Clay:

Bentonite clay comes from volcanic ash. It has a unique composition which allows it to absorb negatively charged toxins. In the world we live in today, we are exposed to toxins such as pesticides, lead, and traces of metal which can accumulate in our bodies. Bentonite clay has been found to absorb these toxins. When applying it as a face mask, it has the ability to deeply cleanse your pores and pull the toxins from your skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar is essentially fermented apple cider. It has both internal and external benefits that make it a miracle elixir. It has antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antiviral properties that can help with skin issues. However, it is important to be cautious when using apple cider vinegar on the skin because it can lead to irritation. This is why it is important to dilute it with purified water.

Essential Oils (optional):

I personally like to add a couple drops of lemon and/or melaleuca (tea tree) oil to my face mask.

To Make

Simply mix all the ingredients together! Use the following measurements:

  • 1/2 cup Bentonite Clay
  • 1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Water as needed

Add the water 1 tsp at a time until you have your desired consistency. If the mask is too runny, it will not stick well on your skin. If the mask is too thick, you may have a difficult time spreading it around your face.

Tips

  • DO NOT use a metal spoon to mix this mask. The metal will cause the clay to lose its negative charge. I find it best to use my finger to mix this face mask but you can also choose to use a non-metal utensil if you prefer.
  • If the mask is too runny, add some more bentonite clay. On the flip-side, if the mask is too thick, add more water.
  • Do a patch test. Because everyone’s skin is different, it is important to test this mask on a small portion of your skin. If there is irritation, you can add more water to further dilute it or you can opt to forego this mask.
  • If you make too much it can be stored in an airtight jar for up to one week. It can also be used as an armpit detox!
